survey and sea-trial, 1982 defever 49

Drove up to Olympia Yacht Club to do a sea-trial and survey of a 1982 Defever 49 power yacht.

Present was the buyers, surveyor, and the broker.

This was mostly uneventful and she is a good boat, with just a few minor things that need to be done.

After the boat was launched we started heading back to the boat house.

Buyer came to me and said we have an issue, he showed me a video of a bunch of water coming in from the drip-less stuffing box.

Every one thought we needed to back to the travel lift to address it.  I made the executive call to tie up at the fuel dock in front of us and then go down and check it myself.

Not sure why the seal to the collar got compromised, but asked for some allen wrenches and proceeded to move the collar so that it pressed a little harder on the bellow bag.  This addressed the issue and moved on to getting the boat back in the boat house.
