Dinghy

I grew up on dinghy’s 🙂

My dad moved to hawaii and bought a condo across the street from Kaneohe Yacht Club back in the early 80’s. My brother and I would travel to hawaii and stay with my dad during xmas, spring break, and the summer. So we spent lots of time in the junior program at KYC.

Then for about 15 years I helped out at CGRA down in the gorge, and began sailing lasers at WSC. I was also being a PRO for CYC on the columbia river, and at the Vancouver Lake Regatta at VLSC.

Around 2009 I was asked to come to Vancouver lake sailing club to run the sailing school. This was great move for me, as my kids could then take lessons at the club under other instructors instead of me.

Given all my experience on dinghy racing I can say that it is a big part of my knowledge in sailing. It gives a sense of balance when sailing boats.
